A day in the life of a Yoga Monk – Monday, September 29

adayinthelife

A million thank yous to those who came out to our first ever drum circle! We had a number of different types of drums, some amazing singing, and definitely left the crowd tapping their feet, taking videos, bopping their heads and totally getting into the beat. Thank you so much for coming. The main singer that day was our very own Bhaktimarga Swami, who also happens to be our speaker next week!
Bhaktimarga Swami, Canada’s one and only “Walking Monk” is walking on over to the Krishna Club this coming Monday, September 29th! He has traveled around the world directing, producing, and writing world-renowned dramas, sharing spirituality, and providing friendship and care to so many. He’s walked across Canada four times in an effort to promote peace and spirituality.
The Swami will be joining us on Monday the 29th to talk about what it’s like to be a real bhakti yoga practitioner. What does the day look like? Does he wake up early and sing weird chants all day? Does he live in an ashram? Does he have any material possessions? What’s up with the shaved heads??
If you liked Eat, Pray, Love, and even if you didn’t (I actually really didn’t :)), you don’t want to miss this talk. It’ll be a window into a fascinating culture and person.
Hope to see you there! Details below:
Date: Monday, September 29th at 7pm-8:30pm
Where: Student Centre, room 307
Cost: $5 for returning members, $15 for a semester, FREE for newcomers!
Why? Because there will be food, an awesome speaker, and maybe even a little meditation exercise.
See you soon, y’all.
